Who we are

Altron was founded in 1991 by five visionary engineers — among them today’s Chairman of the Board, Milivoj Uzelac. Together, they set out to build one of the first companies in the region focused on critical technology infrastructure. From the very beginning, the company specialized in power supply systems (UPS), which Milivoj Uzelac was importing to the Czech Republic from the Netherlands at the time.

Among Altron’s first major clients were institutions where reliability was essential — including the General University Hospital and Landesbank in Prague. As early as 1992, Altron secured its first major contract: the delivery of UPS systems for Komerční banka, then the largest B2B bank in the country, at a time of profound transformation within the Czech financial system.

Following the split of Czechoslovakia, Altron Slovakia was established in 1993. That same year marked the beginning of long-term cooperation with Český Telecom, later Eurotel and subsequently Telefónica. It was for this key partner that Altron built its very first data center in 2001 — a milestone that transformed the company from a systems integrator into a full-scale data center general contractor.

In 2013, Altron opened an office in Dubai, formally entering international markets and expanding its presence beyond Europe for the first time.

Today, after more than 35 years, Altron remains a family-owned company with global reach. Milivoj Uzelac Jr. leads Altron Modular and plays a key role in the group’s international expansion. Jovanka Uzelacová heads marketing, while Nicole Uzelacová oversees corporate events. Altron continues to grow on the foundation of continuity, expertise, and values that have defined the company since its inception.
